Устройство для направления металла при входе или выходе из валков. На реверсивных станах при прокатке больших сечений проводки часто не применяются или устанавливаются только снизу. На листовых станах проводку выполняют в виде линейки, а на сортовых она имеет вид желоба по форме, близкой к прокатному профилю. Проводка со стороны входа металла в валки называется вводной, а со стороны выхода — выводной. Проводка устанавливается на проводковых брусьях, закрепленных на станинах рабочей клети. Для уменьшения износа и устранения повреждения металла применяют роликовые проводки. Кантующая проводка обеспечивает автоматическую кантовку металла (поворот обычно на 45 или 90o) между клетями при прокатке сорта благодаря винтообразной внутреней поверхности. Обводная проводка обеспечивает поворот (обычно на 180o) выходящего из одного калибра переднего конца проката и направляет его в последующий калибр при прокатке на мелкосортных станах и обычно при линейном расположении клетей. Систему проводок называют также валковой арматурой.

Оформление корреспонденции бухгалтерских счетов: разнесение определенной суммы на дебет одних счетов и кредит – других. В случае простой проводки по данной хозяйственной операции дебетуется один счет и кредитуется тоже один счет. В случае сложной проводки одна сумма может быть занесена в дебет одного счета и в кредит нескольких других счетов, и наоборот. Обязательно лишь, чтобы совокупность записанных сумм и в кредите, и в дебете совпадала.
